Details of Hardware Key Upgrade
Dongle Replaces Software Keys
Each upgrade is packaged in a DVD case, and includes two USB hardware keys (dongles), one CD-ROM and one printed READ ME insert.
One hardware key holds licenses for NC Console, NC GeoMate and NC Nesting. The other holds licenses for NC GeoMate and NC Nesting only. Each package provides software keys for two seats only.
Additional hardware key upgrades must be purchased for additional seats.
The CD-ROM includes an AutoRun user interface, hardware key drivers, copies of the latest versions of NC GeoMate and NC Nesting, as well as the appropriate versions of NC Console. Copies of NC Console are provided for single and dual head gantries (and J Class gantries on Mark IV systems).
Windows installers are provided for the hardware key drivers, and the software. The installers greatly simplify the installation of the drivers.
NC Geomate
Drivers are provided for both x86 and x64 (i.e. both 32 and 64 bit) versions of Windows. Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 are supported.
MkIV NC Console
Note that at this time, Mark IV systems with PMDi controllers must run on 32 bit versions of Windows, because only 32 bit drivers are available. In any case, no software is provided with the upgrades that would allow or assist users with transferring their controls to other PC's, or other versions of Windows.
This is a new release of NC Console and includes many new and requested features, such as Kerf Compensation in the Console program.
MkII and MkIID
A firmware upgrade utility is provided for the Galil controller based Mark II and Mark IID systems. This program automates the process of upgrading the firmware on the Galil controller to Calypso revision "L".
(This upgrade is mandatory for all Calypso Mark II and Mark IID systems to allow them to work with the latest Mark II and Mark IID versions of NC Console.)
The program takes care of fetching the controller's tuning parameters before upgrading the firmware, and restoring the tuning parameters after the upgrade. No separate firmware download utility is required.
Note that the Mark II and Mark III upgrades do not upgrade NC Console with all of the latest features found in the Mark IV version of NC Console.
